MAN GETS PUNCHED FOR REFUSING HUG: A man in Iowa is in jail after punching another guy who refused to give him a hug. Onlookers called police when they saw the 23-year-old suspect punching cars on Sunday night (July 18th). The suspect, whose blood alcohol level was .086, told police that he got angry and punched a car when the man refused his hug. Then he punched the guy for refusing the hug. He was charged with assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief. (AP)

PETA UPSET ABOUT CHINESE ROOSTERS PLAYING SOCCER: A woman in China is organizing mini street tournaments for soccer-playing roosters. Zhang Lijun got the idea when she noticed her young roosters kicking the ball around back in 2007. Even though her intentions might be innocent, PETA says that it's a shady road to go down. The organization's president Ingrid Newkirk explains, "If roosters are placed together in close proximity with no chance of withdrawing . . . their natural urge is to fight . . . " She continues, "It is possible to train a chicken or rooster to play ball, but placing roosters together at 'sporting events' in front of crowds is another matter. Using animals in public venues, especially when bets are at stake, doesn't usually end well for them and is seldom in their best interests." (AOL)

A 17 year old Amish teen from the Town of Leon is in trouble after he led police on a chase through his town.The teen was observed
running a stop sign in his horse and buggy. Sheriff's deputies tried to stop him, but he refused to stop and a chase ensued for almost a mile. After making an unsafe turn, the teen crashed the horse and buggy and took off on foot. He was later found, arrested and
charged with underage possession of alcohol, overdriving and animal, reckless endangerment, failure to stop at a stop sign and
failure to yield to a emergency vehicle.... The teen said to the police officer.. "SCREWETH THEE, I'LL BE OUT OF YOUR EARTHLY
CONFINES BEFORE YOU CAN BLINKETH!!"
